Time to get Serious about Summer Race Series ....
There's a lot of cheap and cheerful midweek racing near you all over the Summer. Check out these Summer race series for the healthy alternative to sitting in your garden with a beer on a long Summer evening...
Bristol Sri Chimnoy Races Summer Series
A set of races of varying distances held at Eastville Park. A friendly event, especially look out for Race 4 - the relays with icecreams at the end. This event is badly in need of more Emersons Green runners to take some limelight away from some other local teams!
Race 1: 14 May 2 Miles (and 1 mile junior race), Race 2: 18 June 5k (and 1 mile junior race), Race 3: 2 July 2 miles (and 1 mile junior race) Race 4: 16 July 3 x 1 mile relay
Pomphrey 5K - hosted by Bristol and West
The first of these races was held on 30th April but you can still catch the conveniently local Race 2 on 28th May 2019
Bitton 5K series - hosted by Bitton Road Runners
A set of 5KM races held along the fast and very flat Bristol to Bath cycletrack from May through till August. Each race takes place on a Wednesday evening. The dates for the 2019 series are:
Wednesday 8th May, Wednesday 5th June, Wednesday 10th July & Wednesday 7th August.
Rose Inn Series - hosted by Chepstow Harriers
Not quite so local but these 4 mile races start and end at the excellent Rose Inn pub. Fast and flat (you get to re-live or try out some of the Newport marathon route). The dates for the 2019 series are:
Tuesday 14th May, Tuesday 11th June, Tuesday 9th July & Tuesday 13th August

Save the date ... An EGRC Club picnic is being planned for after the Two Tunnels Race on 14th July. BYO picnic to Brickfields Open space - near to the Two Tunnels entrance. More details coming soon.
Change the date ... The Storage Container tidy up at Pomphrey Hill is now on Saturday June 15th at 11.00 am. Please check out the event on the #Team EGRC facebook page or speak to Pete Blanchard for more details.
