Captains Corner

Hey all!

It’s Graham & Wendy here! We’re your new men’s and ladies’ Club Captains for 2019! We’d just like to say that it’s an honour and a privilege to be your captains. We’ll do our absolute best for you throughout the year to represent you all and be good ambassadors for our fabulous club! We’ll be organising our team entries into various races during the year - such as the Bristol 10k and the Cotswold Way Relay - so expect a few more emails from us as the year unfolds. As we’re now such a big club with around 200 members (!) spread across different days of the week - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday - it’s a challenge for us all to keep up with the great things we’re doing as a club and for us all to see each other. No doubt there are some Monday clubbers who have never met some Thursday clubbers and vice-versa. So one thing we’d like to do is to arrange a few events that will give us all the opportunity to bring us together as a club. So watch this space! If you ever want to chat with us - you’ll find one or both of us at most Monday and Thursday club sessions (and quite a few Tuesdays as well! - don’t panic Mr Bush) so please feel free to tap us on the shoulder - or drop us an email at captains@emersonsgreenrunningclub.co.uk

In addition to the fantastic selection of races on the Championship list - here are a few other upcoming races in the EGRC calendar:
- Frenchay 10k – Sun 28th April - 11.00am
- Bristol 10k – Sun 5th May - 9.30am (see email from EGRC Captains)
- Hogweed Trot – Mon 27th May 2019 - 7.00pm
- Chippenham Longest Day – Weds 19th June - 7.30pm
- Cotswold Way Relay – Sat 29th June (see email from EGRC Captains)

Finally just to note that the replacement to the Longleat 10k in this year’s Club Championship list will be The Flying Monk Malmesbury 10k on Sat 31st August at 11.00am. For further information on this (including the club discount code!) - please see the recent Captains email or the #Team EGRC webpage.

Happy running!

Graham & Wendy
