Race Profiles wanted

If you're not sure if you dare enter an upcoming race or just not sure if a particular race is for you, wouldn't it be useful to have a Race Profile written by a trusted EGRC member?  Assuming the answer to that question is a resounding yes, we are looking for people to write Race Profiles for upcoming races.  The format for each race profile will be the same so we will need comments/remarks for  the following questions.  Example answers are provided below for an upcoming race we all know and love:

Race Name: Rodway 2020
Real distance: 10k
But Feels like: A bit more due to sliding in different directions in the mud, oh and the steps ....
Terrain: Think 50% road/cycle path, 50% Doynton style mud potentially depending on weather conditions leading up to race day
Flat/hills ratio: 75:25 Fairly easy running apart from where it is very muddy, oh and the steps ...
Organisation rating: 10/10 for impeccable race organisation
Cost/value for money: £10 affilliated/£12 unaffiliated.  Can't get better value for money
Most likely to be heard saying before the race: "What a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the school foyer, chatting to running mates, cup of tea, biscuits .. oh s*@t I nearly forgot I have to go and run 10K!"
Most likely to be heard saying during the race: "Hi Kate!, Hi Ash! Hi Neil! Hi Ruth! Hi Leanne!, Hi Danny! Hi Pete! Hi Jo!" You get the idea  basically you will know nearly all the race organiser's and marshall's names - and they will know yours!
Most likely to be heard saying after the race: "Hmmm .. if I can do that maybe I should enter River Avon Trail/Doynton/Riverbank Rollick/Forest of Dean Half (delete as appropriate) trail race..."
If I could change one thing about the race: I actually can't think of anything - this race has it all.  But if anyone else has any ideas they should let Graham or Kerri know for next year!
Person I would like to buy this race entry for: (this is your opportunity to be cruel or kind depending on how you feel about the race) I would buy this race entry for my son Ben who turns 16 in February so will be just old enough and it is a perfect introduction to 10k racing.  I'm sure he'd thank me for it at some point!

Upcoming races include (this list is not exhaustive): Ironwood Challenge, Bath Half; Bristol 10K, Winter Green Man Ultra, Frenchay 10K, Battle of Lansdown 2020, Newport Half Marathon, Weston Half, Frome Valley 10K, Blaise Blazer.  So it couldn't be simpler - please get thinking and send in your snappy race profiles to newsletter@emersonsgreenrunningclub.co.uk
