Kit Update

by Tom Kavanagh

Hello fellow EGRC members. I know a lot of you are wondering what is happening with regards to our new kit. Trust me, it has been on my mind as much as yours and I have been working away on this in the background for us all.

As you will see from the image, our shop is all ready to go. However, like everything that is going on in the world at present, Kukri have suspended all their club shops so as not to take orders that they can’t fulfil within the time frames they are contractually required to do. As soon as the shop is allowed to go live, it will and we will email every member and do shout outs at all club nights to let everyone that it is open for orders.

Here are some of the finer details and FAQs you might have:

  • EGRC Committee will control when and how long the club shop will be open for each time. We are currently thinking of opening once a quarter for a three week-period; however, this can be subject to change following feedback from members. For the first window, we wish to have a short window opening of 2-3 weeks.
  •  The cost of each item will be as follows.  T-shirts – £26.40      Vests – £24.60
  • During the first window all items will be reduced by £5 giving you the club discount as promised at the AGM, to bring the cost of a t-shirt to £21.40 and a vest at £19.60. Remember, you can only order ONE item at the reduced cost price. If you wish to order a t-shirt and a vest the club will contact you asking for the outstanding £5 payment before the order is confirmed or placed.
  • We have 4-6 week delivery timescale from when the shop is closed to orders. So if you order on the first day of the shop opening, it will still be 4-6 weeks plus the remaining duration of the shop opening window.
  • All orders will be delivered to one address paid for by the club, and then handed out at either a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday club night.
  • Each item is wrapped individually with the club member’s name inside the packaging, so we are aware of whose is whose.
  • Each item is made to order, so no refunds will be available once the order has been placed unless the item is faulty and this will need to be brought up with Kukri directly by you.
  • At the end of each shop window, we have to meet a minimum order for each item. This is ten or more T-shirts (Men’s and Women’s combined), 10 or more men’s vests or ten or more women’s vests. So if only nine male vests are ordered, then we will contact you with our options, of either waiting to the next window to see if another member orders a vest, a refund or another option.

Once the current restrictions are lifted and things are getting back to normal, Kukri will be visiting both our Monday and Thursday club nights with sample size t-shirt and vests in case people are unsure what size they might be before ordering. This might happen before the first shop window opens but most likely during or after. I will keep you posted as soon as I know more.

Hopefully the above is clear, but if you think any further info is needed then please let me know.
