Club Charity - Feed the Homeless Bristol

Amidst this global pandemic and crisis, our thoughts inevitably turn to those in worse off situations than our own and how difficult it can be to cope with the lockdown measures.  When the government message is to "Stay at Home", what do you do if you don't have a home or somewhere safe to stay?

If you're following the situation you'll be aware that local authorities have been tasked with finding accommodation for all the street homeless people across the country - an incredible feat that just shows what is possible at times of crisis.  On 9th April Feed the Homeless Bristol announced that despite over 200 people being accommodated in hostels and hotels in Bristol there are still over 130 people sleeping rough on the streets including sofa surfers who can no longer "surf" to employees who had accommodation with their job because the job no longer exists.

To support these very vulnerable people, Feed the Homeless Bristol, alongside other organisations in Bristol have been providing food 7 nights a week for rough sleepers.  They strictly adhere to all safety guidance and ensure social distancing is observed, but along with so many other key workers at this time, they are putting themselves at risk to help some of the most vulnerable people in our area.

As if that wasn't enough, the charity also delivered Easter treats to all the rough sleepers who have managed to get into accommodation and then also provided Easter treats along with hot food and sandwich packs for rough sleepers at Champion Square in Bristol.

The charity currently have an Emergency Appeal for donations to support them in this work: https://www.fundsurfer.com/crowdfund/emergency-fund-for-the-homeless
